What is the treatment Ultherapy
Ultherapy Prime is the leading energy-based anti-aging treatment. Ultherapy has the impressive feature of achieving lifting and tightening of areas applied without trauma, side effects or recovery. It is approved by the FDA as the only non-invasive lifting method.
In which areas do we apply the Ultherapy
Ultherapy has been approved for use in the following areas:
- around the eyes (for eyelid lifting and mild eyelid relaxation),
- perioral (for smoker lines)
- middle and lower face
- under the chin (chin)
- neck
- square neckline
- armrest
- belly
How does the treatment work
We are talking about a non-invasive treatment that uses focused micro-ultrasound that has a beneficial effect on the skin. When applying them, the doctor does not "hit" blindly but sees exactly which point under the skin he is targeting. Therefore, the application is completely safe.
The desired levels we aim for are two:
- The SMAS (superficial myoaponeurotic system) zone, which is a membrane just below the skin and above the muscles. This membrane supports all of the overlying skin and is also the “target” of surgical lifting.
- The lower skin, the dermis, is the area where the skin's "skeleton" of collagen fibers and fibroblasts is located. The denser this "skeleton" is, the firmer and more lifted the skin is.
The ultherapy device causes controlled microtrauma at these levels. It triggers an internal inflammation that begins a cascade of fibroblast activation and collagen production that lasts for many months after treatment.
What is the result of the treatment
The result is firmer and brighter skin, especially after the 2ndο -3ο month and the patient perceives it as a mild lifting. The result lasts 1-2 years!
Which ones and who are suitable for Ultherapy;
It is ideal for all ages, with the most spectacular results seen in the age range of 40-65. It is also an excellent choice for those who have mild sagging but want to avoid surgery. It also acts as a booster for those who have had a surgical lifting and want to improve the result.
In essence, it works as a prevention of progressive skin relaxation and sagging and prolongs or even stops the path to surgical solutions.
Does it require any preparation?
No, no preparation is required.
Does it hurt like a cure?
The main feeling during the application is a mild discomfort. Where required, we apply anesthetic cream.
What is recovery?
The recovery time is zero and the patient returns to their normal activities.
Is it combined with other treatments?
Yes, we can combine it with other treatments (mesotherapy, Botox, etc.) on the same day.
How many sessions are required?
ONLY ONE
Ποια η διαφορά του με τις θεραπείες HIFU;
The only similarity with HIFU treatments is that they both use ultrasound. Beyond that, the differences are chaotic. The reason for this is that Ultherapy is completely targeted and has the ability to fully visualize ultrasound during the treatment. The doctor "sees" exactly where he is hitting.
- HIFU does not act in a focused manner but strikes indiscriminately and "blindly" into the skin, without taking into account parameters such as the thickness of the skin in each individual and underlying structures. In contrast, the application of micro-ultrasound in Ultherapy is targeted and completely adaptable to the depth of the skin.
- HIFU hurts (sometimes a lot…)
- HIFU requires more sessions (at least 3) per area - Ultherapy, on the other hand, only one..
- HIFU sometimes has side effects such as lipodystrophy, hematomas, burns
- One Ultherapy session is much more effective than multiple HIFU sessions over the same follow-up period.
- The cumulative cost per area is the same or even lower in ultherapy, as HIFU is cheaper per session but requires many sessions per area….
